BY Definition: It is documentthat guarantees the vehicle that is temporarily imported into Zimbabwe for the sole purpose of carrying passengers and their baggage/goods to and from or through Zimbabwe.
The Electronic Temporary Import Permit (ETIP)system is already accessible on the ZIMRAwebsite. All drivers must complete this form online and keep the reference number. Upon arriving at the border, the driver presents the reference number to a customs officer, who will print the ETIP. After making the necessary payments, the driver is thenallowed to enter Zimbabwe.
When exiting Zimbabwe, the driver must acquit the ETIP by submitting it to a customs officer, who will officially close the ETIP in the system. Once acquitted, the driver can apply for a new ETIP on their next trip. If a driver fails to acquit the ETIP, ZIMRAwill follow up through a clearing agent, where we introduce a special tracking toolto manage this process effectively.
We recognize the risks of scamming, identity theft, and document fraud. To combat these issues, we will incorporate QR codeson all CVGsto verify authenticity. We seek expert guidance on implementing this security feature effectively.
